We the people of the United States of America ARE the government of the United States of America. Those who have been ELECTED into the positions they are in, are just doing the dirty work for us and representing us while we go about our daily lives.
Correction, our elected officials are representing those of us who actually VOTE.
Everyone who CHOOSES not to vote, CHOOSES by default NOT TO HAVE A VOICE in what happens in their city, state, and country.
In other words, if you do not exercise your God given right to VOTE, you FORFEIT any right or privilege to say anything about how the government is being run. If you forfeit your right to vote, you are not allowed to complain about any liberties that the government takes without your permission. When you choose not to vote, you are saying that you no longer want to live in a democratic republic. You are saying that you do not care what goes on around you. You are saying that you would rather live in a SOCIALISTIC society where the government is a bunch of people who have their own agendas and tell you what to do instead of the other way around.
When you CHOOSE not to VOTE, you CHOOSE to relinquish some of your FREEDOMS and RIGHTS. WHY would anyone CHOOSE to throw away their rights? Criminals throw away their rights when they commit crimes. In that respect, it is almost criminal for anyone to not vote.
LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!! We are a Democratic Republic! In a multi-party system like we have, if there are two people voting and one of them chooses not to vote, the other wins by default. Your lack of speech, your lack of exercising you RIGHT to FREE SPEECH can backfire and allow someone you do not support to gain power over you.
Need I continue? I think my point is made. VOTE! Or bow pitifully and helplessly to the results that you voted for by NOT VOTING.
The Utah County Government 2006 Primary Election Unofficial Results show that only 17.14% of registered voters actually voted this last Tuesday. 17.14%!!!!! This is Minority Rule!! Apparently the Majority does not care what happens to them or their country.
You think I am too dramatic about this? Try talking to me about it in person. 🙂
