Things that make me feel good.

Love in the eyes of a child

Love is a pretty abstract concept. I did not verify if any of these thoughts were actually said by children. Whether they were or not, they are still true and quite touching. Enjoy.

“A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, ‘What does love mean?'”

Rebecca – age 8

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.”

Billy – age 4

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.”

Karl – age 5

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.”

I can do anything!

I am so very grateful for the trials that I have in my life right now. Having the trials that I now have means that I have reached the point in my life that Heavenly Father knows that I can handle these trials. He would not allow them to come into my life if He did not know that I can handle them. Knowing that, I know that I can overcome any trial or tribulation that comes into my life. There is nothing in this world or in this short blink of time, called mortality, that I cannot overcome. There will never be any problem that ever comes into my life that will be more than I can handle. Heavenly Father knows me so well that he personally crafted my life to give me just the right challenges at just the right times. I know that because I always trust Him that He knows exactly what He is doing with my life, that I will always have His power and His support in everything I do. He is my success. I can accomplish anything that I want to do with Him on my team. With God, everything is possible. With God on my team, every goal I set is reachable. The only thing that can limit my success is me. If there is anything that is going wrong and something needs to change, it is me. If I am lost and confused it is because I have stopped looking into the light which is my Heavenly Father. With my spiritual eyes focused on Him, my physical and my mental eyes will only see success.

Pain is nothing to be scared of. Pain is good. Pain is an indicator, nothing more. Pain helps me to know where I am going. Pain helps keep me on the path that I should be on. When I am pushing myself up a road that I know I should be on and it starts to hurt, that means I am growing stronger and that I should continue on. I know that once I give everything I have, Heavenly Father will pick up my slack and keep me going. I am not in this race alone. Life is a team effort. Heavenly Father is my partner. Heavenly Father has no weaknesses, only strengths. Because he is my partner, it is impossible for me to lose. I understand clearly that the idea which the world has of winning is shallow and meaningless. Winning the Lord’s way means winning anything and everything. I can do anything and be anything! I am a child of God.

I care not if I am the only one on earth that thinks this way, but I am as sure as I can be that life is good and only getting better. I have a positive outlook on life and I will keep it that way. No matter what happens, I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. If he wants me to be destitute in this life, bring it on. It only means that He knows I can successfully overcome that obstacle and it will be a great strength to me in my life. Whatever anyone thinks, I know for a fact that Heavenly Father wants me to be prosperous and happy. People who are prosperous and happy and who trust in Him are great tools for good in His hands. That is what I am and that is what my goal is for this life. I am as prosperous as I can be so that I can be the best and most amazing tool for good that I can be for Him to use as He knows best.

Russell H. Conwell

Russell H. Conwell was the founder of Temple University. The story is very inspiring. However, before you read that, you should read this:

Acres of Diamonds
By Russell H. Conwell

Here are some excerpts:

“When that old guide had told me that very sad story, he stopped the camel I was riding and went back to fix the baggage on one of the other camels, and I remember thinking to myself, “Why did he reserve that for his particular friends?” There seemed to be no beginning, middle or end — nothing to it. That was the first story I ever heard told or read in which the hero was killed in the first chapter. I had but one chapter of that story and the hero was dead.”

“…and he said another thing I would not forget: he declared that a diamond is the last and highest of God’s mineral creations, as a woman is the last and highest of God’s animal creations. I suppose that is the reason why the two have such a liking for each other.”

Once you have read “Acres of Diamonds”, read this synopsis of How and why Russell H. Conwell founded Temple University.

Dream On!

It is a God-given, universal, undeniable truth, that you can do, become, and accomplish anything that you want to.

It is also just as true that whatever your goal, it is going to take work to achieve. By work, I mean it is most likely going to be painful, hard and uncomfortable. You WILL be tempted to be discouraged. You WILL be tempted to be frustrated. You WILL be tempted to give up.

The Good News, however, is that if you recognize that it will be hard and you reject the temptations and you persevere, you WILL, in the end, accomplish your goal.

Therefore, DREAM ON! You want those dreams of yours? Take them! It is up to you and your faith in that God who gives you the ability to become whoever you want to become.

Does that sound too hard? Too unbelievable? Then it is. Because whatever YOU think, is YOUR reality. If you think something is hard or even impossible, you have just made it so. I am sorry for you. Too bad. You really could have done something with your life.

You have the choice. Do you want to be miserable? Or do you want to be happy? You are what you choose to be. Happiness is not a destination, is an attitude that you choose to have. If you are miserable, then you have made the choice to be miserable. If you are happy, then you have made the choice to be happy, and GOOD for you for making that choice.

Make the choice to Dream. Make the choice to work toward your Dreams. Make the choice to Happily overcome every obstacle on your way to making your Dreams into Reality.

You CAN do it. So Dream On!

Do you remember me?

I do not care what you political affiliations or views are. If you are an American, or even if you are not, our troops deserve to be supported 100%. If you do not like what we are fighting for, take it to the leaders who we have put into power either by our own votes or by our indifference.

Here is a video that does a very good job of helping us remember who our troops are.

Support your troops. Prove that you love the country that they are dying to protect and the freedoms that they are trying to establish for other countries who do not have the freedoms that we take for granted.

Affirmative!

I received some spiritual revelation today while I was painting. We are painting our walls. The evil satan likes to find tricky ways to put thoughts and tempations into my head so that I think that they are mine. One thing that I need to do in this life is to be able to recognize whose thoughts are in my head. It is important that I am able to recognize temptation so that I can reject it. It is also very important that I am able to recognize inspirations and thoughts from the Holy Spirit of the Lord so that I can act upon them.

As I was painting today, satan was trying to do his thing. Trying to put thoughts into my head and make me feel guilty and dejected about life and how imperfect I am and all the things that I do wrong. The moment I recognized what those thoughts were and where they were coming from I started doing something that my mother taught me. She taught me to affirm who I am and what I stand for and what my goals are. Actually, those are some things that I have learned from what she taught me. What she taught me was very simple. I repeat to myself who Christ is, in the form of “I Am”, since that is also his name. “I Am” also works as a phrase indicating myself. I tell myself things like this: I am good, I am clean, I am happy, I am holy, I am pure. All things that Jesus is, and all things that I am trying to be.

I have since enhanced this technique to include my goals, the opposites of things that I am currently struggling against, and other good and happy thoughts. I find that as I do this, I am filled with the Love of my Heavenly Father, which perfect love casteth out all fear. Any guilt or pain or unhappiness, any evil thoughts or tempations, any evil spirits hanging around me, instantly flee and I am left with unfettered thoughts and feelings of happiness, thankfulness, freedom, goodness, and an understanding of the great love of my Father and His many tender mercies.

Thank you, dear Father, for giving me a way to fight the adversary. I know his designs and I reject them. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I am good, I am clean through His blood. I have a pure mind and a clean heart. I know that thou dost desire to have me return to live with thee again. That is my desire also. I will do those things that will bring me closer to thee. I will learn to recognize and reject the evil one and his minions. I will keep my mind full of good and pure thoughts.

Affirm – To state as fact; assert strongly and publicly; to declare ones support for; to uphold or defend.

Affirmations are an act of faith. That is what I learned today. Affirmations are extremely important to us in helping us stay on track, to help us remember and keep our goals, to realign us with who we are. Songs are affirmations in lyrical form and put to music. This is a wonderful reason to sing hymns and one reason that singing or repeating the words to hymns can repell evil spirits. This is also a very big reason why we are cautioned to take care what music we listen to and sing. We are and we become what we affirm. Every thing we think, say, or sing is in effect an affirmation of who we are and who we are striving to become. Let us be careful what we affirm to ourselves and others.
